BUS CAMPAIGN PETITION – (Handover)/(A Positive Result)
News Flash! To whom it may concern.

From: Mick Pilling (Chairman) SAVE BRIDLINGTON HOSPITAL (Campaign)

To: All M.P.’s, Councillors, Mayor, Officials & Residents of Bridlington &District.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Today, Friday, 23 May 2003 at approximately 12.00 noon, I rung:

Commercial Manager: Mr Bob Rackley;

East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd, 252, Anlaby Road, Hull HU3 2RS

Telephone: (01482) 327142 Fax: (01482) 212040 - EYMS Group Ltd.

I asked Mr Bob Rackley if he or any member of the EYMS Group, would be attending the meeting for the handover of the Petition, which now stands at 9,655 at this moment in time, he declined and said that he was busy and that no-one from the company would be present. I informed Mr Rackley that the Petition was now ready to handover and I would be getting his copy to him in due course.

I then asked Mr Rackley if anything had been discussed regarding a recent e-mail sent to me, were I had requested that the hospital bus service be linked to the existing 121, he remarked that it would be discussed later in the year and he had nothing else to add to previous statements. I feel that Bus Company is been very unsympathetic to the many who travel to the hospital daily.

I have tried very hard to compromise with the EYMS Ltd (Bus Company) and withdrawn my previous claim to have the 121 go directly to the Scarborough Hospital grounds, I appreciate this may not be cost effective and have come up with a far more realistic, feasible and level-headed idea. The Scarborough Hospital Bus Service needs to be up-graded now; improvements need to be implemented now? I am sure we have been very diplomatic in our quest and now ask the various officials present today to take this on board.

Positive Result!

“A very important meeting held at the Town Hall Bus Forum, Wednesday, 1st July 2003 as proved very successful and encouraging, the Chief Executive: Peter Shipp, of EYMS Ltd are now looking at services to improvements by 2003/2004 when Scarborough Council up-grade the Bus Station.”

Yours truly, Mick Pilling
