Suspended & Alarm bells ringing

When (3) Trust Officials at Scarborough Hospital who were caught falsifying waiting list figures and gaming back in October/December 2002, were today found not guilty, we are told (2) have retired and (1) demoted from there position, the trio of staff were: Chief Nurse: Liz Parker (Now Retired), Planning Director: Martin Hay (Now Retired) & Information Director: Jim Brace (Moved On).

The Audit Commission - who made a spot-check - found appointment records had been altered to give the impression services were run effectively. Large numbers of patients (160 in all) had been erased from records and waiting list times changed by 5 months. GP Referral dates were moved forward three months. Local Labour MP Lawrie Quinn called for a police probe at the time. Conservative: Shadow health secretary, Liam Fox said: "There can be no excuse for this in the NHS". Chief Executive: Ms Alison Guy at Scarborough Hospital as stated this mis-reporting, will never happen again, rightly so, it could have cost lives, "we will never know". With the above in mind, let us pray it does not happen again at any other hospital?
