The Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust have just stated the Trust are £11.7million in the (RED); also that NO Investment can be expected for Bridlington Hospital for at least 3 years. The Trust have put a recovery plan into place to help the Trust which runs Bridlington Hospital pay off debts of this huge £11.7m, plans have been unveiled. It means there will be no major new investment planned for Bridlington, while health chiefs attempt to get the Trust back on its feet financially.

The Trust have promised to repair the Lifts at Bridlington hospital which have been out of commission for some 10 months since December 2002.

Members of the Bridlington Town Council met bosses from the Scarborough Trust to hear details of the three-year-plan. In a nut-shell, no investment to existing Services or the Minor Injuries Unit, Maternity Services still hang in the balance?

The Scarborough Trust have clearly stated they do not intend to run Bridlington Hospital down or Close it, they stated that no money was available for investment!

As a result of their discussions, Councillors have decided to form a: Bridlington Hospital Liaison Group, which will meet every other month and keep up with developments at the Hospital. Among those who have been invited to join the Group is Mick Pilling, who spearheaded The Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign. The Town Council has also given Mick Pilling's Campaign a grant of £250.00 to keep his Website up-dated and running.

I Mick Pilling, would sincerely like to thank the Bridlington Town Council for its wholehearted support, thank you from the Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign Group.
