Dial 999 - ask for Paramedic or Rapid Response,
tell the operator you have a history of Heart Problems and require medical
assistance. Time is of the essence.
Inform the operator of any difficulties you may be experiencing, i.e.
Breathing, Pains in the Chest or down the arms.
You may will be feeling unwell and may be sweating profusely, try not
to panic and do try to relax.
Have someone if possible pack an over night bag for you and take your
medication with you, you may be in hospital for tests for a number of
days, remember once in hospital you are in good hands, try not to worry,
the Doctors and Nurses around you are highly trained and very experienced.
If you are taken to Scarborough Hospital for any reason and do-not have
any money to get home, or you were taken there instead of Bridlington
Hospital, ask the Nurse on Duty to arrange transport for you, Scarborough
Hospital have a contract with NIPPY TAXI'S, the Hospital can arrange transport
to get you home, in many cases been taken to Scarborough is not an option,
in some cases if our Minor Injuries Unit in Bridlington were open with
a full service, we would not have to go to Scarborough Hospital, in most
genuine cases you will be looked after, if you do-not ask then you will
have to find your own way home.
