BRIDLINGTON DAY HOSPITAL

Amicus the Union representatives and members met with Alison Guy , the Hospital's Chief Executive and the Human Resources Director, Duncan Henderson to discuss the future of the Bridlington Day Hospital .

Amicus Regional Officer Kelvin Mawer said “The talks were very positive, Alison Guy gave us firm assurances that the Day Hospital at Bridlington would remain open 5 days a week and that this particular service would be enhanced where possible. Our members attending the meeting outlined many ideas for improving the service”.

Note for Editors

The discussion followed a well attended Public Meeting in the Hospital's Dining Room, where hospital executives outlined a 5 year plan. Members of the public attending the meeting believed people power had secured the future of the hospital.

As a direct result of people power things do really happen....The Scarborough NHS Trust run by; Chief Executive Alison Guy do listen to what the people want, they did not want closure of the day hospital or anything remotely like it.

The Save/Support Bridlington Hospital swung into action and contacted all concerned to high-light such problems....taking it to the Media, Radio & Councillors. We are very happy that all is well and the future of the Day-hospital will be there for all. Yours truly Mick Piling. (Chairman) Save/Support Bridlington Hospital Campaign; here to see fairness in the NHS for the future.
