MACMILLAN NURSING HEALTH CARE IN JEOPARDY - "PCT HEALTH REVIEW SCANDAL"?

MY WRITE-UP

Dear Readers & Campaign Supporters;

Cast your minds back over the years, how many people do you know? who have passed away, (Bless them) there families have said, No Flowers, but all donations sent to: Macmillan Cancer Care or Hospital within our region; How many collections there have been around and about, Local & Nationally, money raised for Macmillan Cancer-care?

How many Raffles have raised money for Macmillan Cancer-care? How many sponsored walks, cycle rides & runs have raised much needed money for these dedicated Macmillan Units?  We are not talking a few pounds!  We are talking Thousands upon Thousands of pounds, maybe Millions?  These dedicated Services should be up-graded, not CLOSED!

Where has all this money gone???....has it gone into the POT "lost for ever", lets ask The Primary Care Trust  (PCT) who plan to review these Macmillan Units or even close one?.....ear-marked could be Hornsea Cottage Hospital ??

The Primary Care Trust will not at this stage deny or confirm, but remember no-smoke-without-fire.

We; The Save/Support Bridlington Hospital Campaigners will not stand-by and let this happen, if closures are about to take place a national call-out will be placed and members will hold, Peaceful Protests with Media, Radio Stations & Television informed........This is a Travesty!!!

Yours sincerely Mick Pilling (Chairman)

We are now well aware of what the (PCT) are doing?  They are making Patients, nurses & people feel uneasy, unsure of what the future holds for the many terminally ill patient, their families, in-laws and loved one's.

Duncan Ross; the Trust's Director of Planning of Performance at the (PCT), should be utterly ashamed of what he has created, with all this uncertainty, alarm and despondency, not only will he not confirm or deny any closures, but he is holding terminally ill patients life in the balance, what plans can their loved one's make.

I fully and firmly believe that unless Chief Executive Adrian Smith & Duncan Ross of the (PCT) cannot give the answers that people and patients expect of them, then they should resign, forthwith!

Waiting over 3 to 4 months for answers as to whether Macmillan Cancer Units at (4) Local Regional Hospitals: Hornsea Cottage Hospital, Driffield's Alfred Bean Hospital, Withernsea Hospital and Bridlington Hospital Macmillan Ward are going to be closed or cut-backs made, is totally.... unacceptable!

Reviews as we all know are a back door to Cut-backs in Services.....this will not be tolerated, when will the PCT realize, the people of this land pay there wages....reflected in the Taxes!  As previously stated, "What has happened to the Millions of ££££££ Donated???
