Save Bridlington Hospital

As from: 8.00AM Friday, 14th January, 2005, car-park Charges at Bridlington & District Hospital will be increased from 50p per hour to £2.00 per hour effective 8.00AM 14/01/05

Old charges: 50p for the first hour, £1.00 for up to 4 hours and £2.00 for over 4 hours
New charges: £2.00 for the first hour, £4.00 for up to 2 hours and £6.00 for over 4 hours

NO NOTIFICATION - they do as they please with our money....."Disgraceful, Despicable, Disastrous for Pensioners & Disabled!"

I have spoken to the Financial Director Bernard Flynn Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust, he said the Trust had had a meeting and that these car-park charges would come into effect from 8.00AM this Friday 14/01/05

At no time have we been informed of the recent charges to be implemented; the Trust have not discussed it with the public, the very people who pay there the Trust's wages, reflected in there Taxes. The Trust said it had made a press release yet no-one is aware of these new charges to be implemented in 3 days time, which are scandalous. These increases are not inline with inflation, the increase is 300% which is ludicrous to say the least.

Public consultation should have been sought after to be fair, this has not been adhered too. The Trusts only comment was to say it was bringing Bridlington & Scarborough Hospitals inline with other hospitals which charge these extortionate prices.

For heavens sake this is an NHS hospital not a business, it is there to care for people and patients not rip them off!!!

I have informed the Newspapers/Media, Radio Stations, and a whole list of people. Stand together and demand fairness from our very own National Health Service. The Carpark Charge Money is not ring-fenced it goes to Scarborough NHS Trust to get them out of debt!!!
