£3m Bail-out for 999 Service-TENYAS in trouble again? NHS Suffers?

We; the Save/Support Bridlington Hospital Campaign Group have been concerned for some time about the:The Tees East & North Yorkshire Ambulance Service within our region; the cut backs of Ambulances; the removal of the First Responder or Rapid Response Car from Bridlington and given to Hornsea?

Whilst we operate here in Bridlington with 2 Ambulances through the day and only one at night?  Ambulance crews are working flat out to keep up with 999 call-outs and emergencies.

They still travel to Scarborough with 99% of patients we believe; the ambulances on returning to Bridlington come back with blue lights flashing and sirens sounding........as the crews battle against the odds!

As from 1st April, 2005; Ambulances will not! Respond to all 999 calls; Paramedics will continue to respond to emergencies of life-threatening or serious illness, but those suffering from less serious problems will be told to contact out-of-hours-GP's?  This as been met with series concerns from all walks of life.....extreme caution will be the thought on many minds. In a nut-shell....this is nothing more than another cost saving exercise by the struggling NHS? What have we got....oh yes!

The Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust..............£4.5m IN -THE-RED!
The Yorkshire Wolds & Coast Primary Healthcare Trust (PCT)................£6.25m IN -THE-RED!
The Tees East & North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS)............£3m IN THE RED!

Other hospitals and NHS services are also in the RED?  The NHS is in melt-down, we believe; central government holds the purse strings...as we give money to other countries and wipe out the debts of other countries; our NHS system suffers dramatically.

We do not deny help to other countries who have suffered a great catastrophe; but lets not forget we also need HELP! in our NHS!
