Good News! For the Bridlington Hospital Maternity Services - Re-opening 24 hours from June 2005 Read-on!

The Save/Support Bridlington Hospital Campaign Group have once again been campaigning hard to have our Maternity Services re-opened after it as been closed for the past few months...some 5 or 6 months now; over the past few years it has suffered from a shortage of staff and closed it's doors at 4:30pm Friday until 08:30am Monday morning......this as angered many residents who have said this is totally unacceptable in our modern Bridlington & District Hospital.

Having to travel to Scarborough Hospital to have your Baby is lunacy....we have a perfectly good hospital with staff who give you care and after care second to none; in Scarborough it's Ship-em-in and Ship-em-out!

Years ago; 3 hospitals within the Town were closed and the services put into one large hospital.....everything was running fine until the Bridlington Hospital was taken over by the Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust & the Yorkshire Wolds & Coast Primary Care Trust. Now all we here is the Trust's are in Financial Debt and are short of money and we have staff shortages....reviews are on the cards in cost saving exercises?  If staff were on decent wages with good job opportunities....perhaps they would stay longer?

Ms Alison Guy (Chief Executive) of: Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust in this letter print below as assured the residents of Bridlington and Bridlington & District Hospital; that, all will be well towards the end of June 2005...we will be monitoring this with bated breath!
