BRIDLINGTON: Campaigners are planning a Peaceful Protest outside the resort's hospital. Save/Support Bridlington Hospital Campaign Group says; the hospital is not being used to its full potential . The Group says; the Maternity Unit should be able to be used by all Expectant Mothers and not just those who are going to have a trouble-free birth; it also says that the Maternity Unit is long over-due a severe up-grade.

Campaigners also say too many patients are being taken to Scarborough Hospital instead of been treated at Bridlington; patients are being transferred from Scarborough to Bridlington daily which is causing severe Bed-blocking at Bridlington hospital? Junior Doctors are then being denied necessary training because of non-admission? If these Junior Doctors do-not receive there training; they could be transferred to other hospitals? Which would be very bad for Bridlington in the long-term! Ambulances: continue to by-pass Bridlington Hospital by taking all patients to Scarborough? Why? Ambulances then return from Scarborough at high-speed to meet demand...this is a dangerous practice!
