Donations to Nurses |

Once again, I am at a total loss and baffled to understand the logic behind Scarborough Healthcare NHS Trust depriving our loyal dedicated nursing staff at Bridlington Hospital; Tea, Coffee, Biscuits & Sugar; donated with love by the people of Bridlington and the Trust stating it is degrading and demeaning treating them like a charity case? Were are the Trust coming from; lessons could be learnt if the trust take note from others! Do we not send our Armed Forces on the front line goodies (Fact) what is the difference? Do we not send goodies to other good causes? We think our Nurses are well worth a little TLC and respect them immensely These Goodies have been donated by the good people of the town of Bridlington; there way of saying; thank you, for looking after me, my family and friends. We have previously donated Tea, Coffee, Biscuits & Sugar to: The Lawrence Unit £65.00 worth & £60.00+ worth to the Johnson ward; these were accepted with gratitude & many thanks. Other Nurses at Bridlington Hospital said; when is it our turn; we could all do with a little help. I fully believe that Scarborough management are been negative and disrespectful to our nursing staff and are using this situation to keep staff under there control. Our MP; the Rt. Hon. Greg Knight and Bridlington Councillors have donated some of the above; also people in the town stating what a wonderful idea; letters in the press; we now have 6/7 carrier bags full of donated goods to give our brilliant nursing staff; we would have thought with moral been so low the Trust would have welcome such an idea with open-arms. "The Trust of Doom & Gloom" We believe it is the Trust who upset staff; NOT the people with kind-hearts who mean well. This is not Charity but a gesture of good-will Our Poem to the Nurses Put our Nurses on a Uppa Lets all treat em to a Cuppa We'll make there day so warm and caring Donate Tea, Coffee, Biscuit with your Love sharing ************************** The Trust stopped our presentation on 18/01/05; they have not been in touch since; as goods remain waiting to hand-over to Nursing-staff @ Bridlington! |

They will be presented on Friday, 10th February 2006 @ 1.00pm in the Main Reception Area, present will be Marion Pearson Head of Nursing & Hospital manager Sue Wellington, hopefully press will be in attendance. This appeal is supported with pledges from: the RT. Hon. Greg Knight MP; Bridlington's Mayor Councillors; Mr & Mrs Allerston & other Councillors who stated what a brilliant idea; many people in the town have donated up-to-date in excess of 9 carrier-bags full, all have stated what a good idea and it should have been done before. Items can still be donated @ Quay News, Quay Road, Bridlington; sincere thanks to Kay & Nigel Williams, proprietors. Kindest regards once again to all concerned....Mick Pilling |
