Hospital Petition Campaigners trying to keep Bridlington's Minor Injuries Unit open says they've had an overwhelming response to a new petition - more than three-thousand people have signed it in the first few days. The Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Acute trust wants to close the unit overnight from the start of September because it says it hasn't got the staff to run it. But it's worried many people in the town - who think it'll put extra strain on the ambulance service and leave people with no-one to turn to in an emergency.

The whole of Bridlington, Bempton, Flamborough & surrounding areas are taking part.....the word! Disgraceful springs to mind
