Official Complaint Regarding 2 patients refused admission to Bridlington Hospital's Cardiac Monitoring Unit, Bessingby Gate, Bridlington; whilst suffering severe Heart Attacks, brought to the hospital by their wives in cars to save vital time (The Golden Hour)
I am demanding a full public inquiry
Bridlington Hospital is run by: Hospital manager; Sue Wellington Chief Executive (Interim) Iain McInnes Scarborough North & East Yorkshire NHS Healthcare Trust
The 2 Cases:
There can be NO cover-up!
September 4th 2006; Bridlington Hospital closed its Minor Injuries Unit from 9pm to 9am next day for the 3rd time in as many years, problem, the Scarborough & North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust stated staff sickness for its closure, blatant lies were told; maternity leave was to blame, no contingency plans put in place; Trust in financial debt to the tune of £9m.
Case 1:
Mr Matt Coleman age 35yrs of Wellington Road, Bridlington was rushed to the Hospital by his wife in there car to save vital time on the 9th September 2006; he was very poorly and complaining of severe chest pains and suspected heart attack; when he arrived at the hospital the doors were lock at 10.00pm; they were told via an intercom system "we are closed" ring an ambulance; Mrs Liz Coleman was frantic and very upset on returning to her car her husband by this time had gone unconscious and suffering Cardiac Arrest, people were looking out of the hospital doors; staff on seeing the state of Mr Matt Coleman bent the rules and opened the doors and Mr Coleman was admitted on to the Cardiac Monitoring Unit ward and his life was saved, the hospitals comments were we will look it to this incident? Mr Coleman is now on the road to recovery but things could have been very different.
Case (1) We are demanding a Full Public Inquiry Case 2:
Mr John Deacon age 52 of 44, Willow Drive,Bridlington Tel: 01262 676824 was rushed to the Hospital by his wife in there car to save vital time on the 17th September 2006; he was very poorly and complaining of severe chest pains and suspected heart attack at 2.00am; when they arrived at the hospital the doors were lock; they were told via an intercom system "we are closed don't you read the local newspaper" ring an ambulance; Mrs Deacon was frantic and very distraught; on returning to her car her husband by this time had gone into cardiac arrest, people were looking out of the hospital doors; an ambulance was called, it took a further 20 minutes plus for this ambulance to arrive, when it arrived the ambulance men gained access to the hospital and Mr Deacon was admitted onto the cardiac ward were he is still in hospital today.....how can an hospital turn very ill patients away? Both these men could have lost there lives.
Note: There is only one Ambulance operational at night in Bridlington from 10.00pm the next ambulance as to be called in from 10/20 miles away; people find it quicker by car to go to the hospital; not everyone is aware it is closed until they get to the hospital, fact!
Case (2) We are demanding a Full Public Inquiry
The NHS is playing Russian Roulette with peoples live! Bridlington Hospital as a 4 bed Cardiac Monitoring Unit fully operational but the Trust have stated to save money they would like to remove it and take it to Scarborough in a cost saving exercise; lives could be lost . Population: 44/45,000 - 100,000 Summertime
This News is Devastating & Very Frightening it could affect many residents of Bridlington suffering Heart Problems.....The next person could DIE! We must not let this happen again! Mick Pilling (Chairman)
I am now also in possession of a Petition with a total of 21,500 signatures against Cuts in Services @ Bridlington Hospital
