Daily Mirror Newspaper: CARDIAC VICTIMS SHUT OUT of HOSPITAL

A national newspaper ( The Daily Mirror), has recently run a story on Bridlington Hospital

The story reads as follows...

CARDIAC VICTIMS SHUT OUT

A HOSPITAL refused entry to two men who had suffered heart attacks.

May Deakin, 52, rushed husband John to see doctors but was turned away.

Due to staff shortages, the minor injuries unit at Bridlington Hospital, North Yorks, is only open from 9am to 9pm.

They were told via an intercom they would be taken to Scarborough Hospital 18 miles away.

John, 58, had a heart at tack at 2am before the ambulance came. Porters eventually unlocked the entrance 20 minutes later.

Matt Coleman, 35, had a similar experience eight days later last week. They are both now recovering.

A spokeswoman said: "We are investigating."
