Consultation Document wan't to distroy Acute Medical Services @ Bridlington

I would like to raise the issue of the Consultation Document issued by: The Scarborough & North East Yorkshire NHS Healthcare Trust in December 2006.

After reading this the document; I have noticed that particular attention as been focused on the ACUTE MEDICAL SERVICES; WARDS & ADMISSIONS at Bridlington Hospital; a Questionnaire Response Form as been issue by the above Trust.

Q.1. Do you think we need to change the way Acute Medical Services are provided in Bridlington Hospital....... I believe you leave well along!

Q.2. Four options have been outlined........ We don't need option; it works perfectly.

Q.3. Are there any variations on the four option.... We shouldn't need any!

Q.4. Do you have any comments about the Consultation Process;

YES! They are a waste of time and money; money like this could be spent wisely! THESE ARE THE (4) MAIN QUESTION, DON'T YOU FIND IT ODD!!!  We all know if the Trust get there way; they would like to remove Acute Medical Services from Bridlington and take them to Scarborough; thus saving vast amounts of money to reduce there DEBT!

We as a Campaign Action Group will not stand for these services been down graded or removed to Scarborough; we will plan the biggest March or Protest this Trust as seen....make no mistake.

We now firmly believe that the Scarborough NHS Healthcare Trust have already had talks and discussed the removal of Acute Medical Services and that the Consultation Document is nothing more than a Smoke Screen.......I would urge everyone including MP's; Councillors and the Public to be astute and alert at all times.

Also planned on this Consultation Document is: Minor Injuries Unit which still remains closed 12 hrs per day over-night and the Maternity Unit which runs a part-time service 8 hrs per day closed at weekends and nights; you can't tell a Baby when to be Born can you, someone tell the Trust! With all the above in mind the enforces will be to make sure the Scarborough NHS Trust do not use back-door tactics and stealth; to remove Acute Medical Services & Wards; keep a very close watch on (Interim) Chief Executive Iain McInnes and Co; we firmly believe he is not to be trusted......is he the AXE-MAN???????

Questions to ask the Scarborough NHS Trust:

Q.1.    The Royal College of Physicians paid a visit to Bridlington Hospital and said the hospital was a sound, working Hospital and should be built on for the future..... Where now is that documentation?

Q.2. The trust insists that despite public opposition, change is necessary, partly because Bridlington Hospital could lose its junior doctors.

" The Medical Deanery, the body that agrees where junior doctors in training can be trained, is seeking to withdraw their support for training junior doctors in Bridlington as the hospital does not see a wide enough range of patients, or enough patients to ensure that junior doctors gain the level of training experience that they need," the report claims.

Where is the Documentation to support this; we have already asked the Trust to provide this!!! haven't we Mr McInnes
But there are other issues which have promoted the review.

The document says: "We now have an ageing population, especially in the Bridlington area where a significant
proportion of local people are older and ageing. Indeed, this trend is expected to continue over the next 10 to 20 years with a significant impact on health needs and service provision.  Therefore to change any Services at the Bridlington & District Hospital would be a complete travesty; taking any Service to Scarborough would be ludicrous and despicable to say the least; we need now to fight and retain all services for the future of Bridlington and surrounding areas.

I ask everyone to please support the Campaign, United we stand, divided we could lose the hospital & its future.
