Those campaigning to keep open our nearest maternity unit at: Malton Hospital were recently told by the Local Health Authority that bus tokens for women in labour could be offered to those who had no transport to get to York or Scarborough.

Scarborough is about 25 miles away and York 35.   We have limited bus services to York, none before 11.30am and none to Scarborough.  Will there soon be a series of births on buses or in bus-shelters?

This takes the biscuit!!

Bridlington has already had approx 4 births, babies born in backs of Ambulances at the road side since Christmas.

Has anyone got a better story?
