Proposed Closure of Waters/Buckrose Wards |
FROM: Mick Pilling (Chairman) Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign Action Group..... Good morning Lisa Smith; I am making enquiries about the document in circulation; Humber Mental Health Teaching NHS Trust Consultation on the East Riding Division Proposed Re-structure Service Re-design.....dated: 23rd February 2007 It proposes closure of Waters Ward & Buckrose Ward by September 2007 at Bridlington & District Hospital. I firmly believe this document should be made public knowledge immediately and all parties concerned should explain the logic behind this ludicrous decision. Bridlington is a town of some 44,000+ residents and to remove this service would have a dramatic effect to the town. The 2 wards in question have 12 beds each; a staff of approx 35+; what would happen to these dedicated staff? What would happen to the patients? Is this another cost saving exercise dreamt up by a white collar worker with no thought to patient? I firmly believe that no consideration or thought has been given to staff or patient I will be seeking evidence that this service is no longer required in Bridlington; has you seem to think! I look forward to your reply in anticipation I am in receipt of documentation 9 pages of proof now available on my website for all to read & take appropriate action. Mick Pilling (Chairman) |
