The Scarborough NHS Trusts decisions to cut 600 jobs and the closing 3 wards was devastating news for this rural area it was stated patient care would not be affected; this is utter rubbish, you cannot take a third of staff finish them and say patient care will not be affected. "Lets hope that MRSA & C-diff don't take over helping to kill patients". As nursing staff work under the axe, how are they expected to do there job with there heart in it; we believe patients will be directly affected, waiting lists will rise once more and patients can expect to be sent to other hospitals for treatment such as Hull, York & possibly North Allerton. NEWS: The SNEY Trust are advertising for 2 Directors at wages of £75000 & £70000 were is the logic ? All the consultations were a cover up and a complete waste of money; there intentions were to find out how they could implement cuts in care and cuts in Staff and services; the removal of services such as at Bridlington Hospital: the removal of Cardiac Monitoring Unit, Maternity Services, reduction of Acute Medical from 24 hrs to day care, no date for re-opening of Minor Injuries Unit; no investment in Bridlington over the years. We are now informed that car-park-charges will increase to make money to help pay off the £20.7m historical debt we firmly believe that we the public and the media have been conned the Trust seems to be unaccountable to anyone; it is a case of complete bad/poor management. Furthermore it is claimed patient care will not be affected yet for many months Nursing staff at Bridlington Hospital are currently working on the threshold of collapse; no recruitment and no overtime! Patents safety will be compromised, care will be compromised. And is it not true Clare Woods from the PCT has already instructed the Trust to admit less elderly patents that's why they have not yet got the contracts from the PCT; Patents are already being refused referrals from Doctors as report recently in the news I don't think the public will ever believe another word from your Trust; at a recent Town Hall meeting in Bridlington a vote of 'No Confidence' in the Trust was tabled. The Trust seems to be made up of glorified lairs who read from the same text-book and do not know the difference between telling the truth and telling lies; spin; hype; back-door and stealth are the norm. The Public have been manipulated and conned. I Now Call For: MP's, Councillors, Unions and residents in Bridlington, Scarborough and surrounding areas to: UNITED call for the immediate intervention of the Government; write to the Prime Minister & Health Secretary; Lobby Parliament; we cannot sustain this amount of loss in Health Services within the area; affected are (8) Hospitals in: Scarborough, Bridlington, Whitby, Malton, Withernsea, Hornsea, Driffield & Beverley.
