PROTEST @ BRIDLINGTON HOSPITAL 10.00AM MONDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2007...

EVERYONE WELCOME COME ONE COME ALL...BRING YOUR FRIENDS
The support you give predicts the future

NEWS! I have expressed outrage; two new senior and highly paid management jobs were advertised by Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Trust, just days after it announced 600 job cuts and three ward closures.

These (2) so called bodies were appointed solely to reduce the staffing levels by 600; as the Scarborough have received £20m debt wipe-out; I feel these posts are no longer required and the Trust should now finish these highly managers; thus saving the Trust £150,000 per annum they could then put this money into saving services.

The Trust has appointed two new full-time senior managers, a Director of Strategy, Planning and Partnership at £70,000 per Annum and a Director of Operations at £75,000.

Both positions are permanent but, because of the Trusts £10 million deficit, the Trust is not offering permanent contracts to clinicians. On the Trusts website where they are advertising the two new Director positions they are also advertising for an Anaesthetist on a temporary contract at between £26,270 and £36,837 per Annum.

FACT: The staff at the fated Bridlington Hospital are on 6 monthly contracts so the Trust can do what they want with staff; appalling!  The Yorkshire Ambulance Service have now clearly stated in the TV news reports; should the removal of the Cardiac Monitoring Unit go ahead they will not guarantee to meet Emergency Response Time & lives could be lost in Bridlington & Surrounding Areas; without a Cash injection to lay on extra paramedic ambulances at least 2 The Scarborough NHS Healthcare Trust are saving monies and passing it on to the Ambulance service....totally outrageous.

The pressure put on the ambulance service will be astronomical; with the closing of Acute Medical Services and the CMU in Bridlington Hospital......the YAS categorically stated LIVES WOULD BE LOST!!  The anger in the town of Bridlington & surrounding areas can be heard far afield.
