MP voices concerns in Commons about Bridlington Hospital

By John Edwards

BRIDLINGTON MP Greg Knight has again raised the issue of Bridlington Hospital's future in the House of Commons.

During a Parliamentary debate last Tuesday evening about this weekend being the 60th anniversary of the NHS, Mr Knight suggested their was little to celebrate in the resort.

He said: "Although most people recognise the anniversary, it is not being celebrated everywhere. For example, in Bridlington in my constituency, there is genuine concern that a relatively new hospital, which a Conservative Government built, maintained and sustained, is under threat from the Labour Government, with services being cut."

His comments were backed up Shadow Health Secretary Andrew Lansley who visited Bridlington Hospital earlier this year.
