Fourth Ward Closed @ Scarborough Hospital

The ward has been affected by Norovirus, also known as winter vomiting disease.

Last month three wards closed due to the bug – Graham ward, Oak ward and the stroke unit, which have since reopened. Norovirus is the most common cause of infectious gastroenteritis in the UK, affecting between 600,000 and one million people each year.

A spokesman said: "We would like to continue to stress the importance of good hand hygiene for visitors and to discourage anyone with any symptoms from visiting the hospital."
